Who is the course for?
It's been designed for adult students wishing to prepare for Cambridge exams (KET, PET, FCE, CAE) . Any exam preparation course requires lots of hard work on your part and so be ready to make the time for your studies and homework.
Research suggests that it takes approximately 200 guided learning hours for a language learner to progress from one level of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) to the next.
Here are the approximate numbers of the guided learning hours required to prepare for each exam. Please, bear in mind the numbers provided are for an average student starting at the Beginner level.
There's a number of factors which might affect how long it can take you to achieve the desired level of English.
your language learning background
the intensity of your study
the amount of study/exposure outside of lesson times
An exam preparation course consists of the two main elements which are language development and exam skills development. In order to achieve the best results in your exam you have to attain the required language ability as well as master the exam stategies.
We're going to start with the placement test to determine you current level of English according to CEFR. The next step would be to look at the desired date of the exam and see whether it is possible to get you prepared by that date or not. The more realistic you are about your goals the better.
